In my experience, student therapists struggle to learn the basic components of anatomy, especially to the region of the shoulder complex and this can be for many reasons. I wanted to design a mini-course purely about functional anatomy of the musculature of the rotator cuff muscle group of the shoulder complex and trust me when I say this; you are going to learn so much about the rotor cuff muscles during this course.
I am a multi-published author of many anatomical books, an osteopath and a lecturer and I will try my absolute best to utilise all my years of expertise and experience into this mini-course.
First, I will teach you the theoretical components of the rotator cuff muscles, moving onto a unique motion known as scapulohumeral rhythm (2:1 ratio) and this relates to an integrated motion of the scapula & humerus. Included within this course will be techniques demonstrated from mobilisation, soft tissue and also athletic / kinesiology taping.
Once you have learnt the theoretical components, I will take you on a practical ‘journey’ of enlightenment through the visual presentations and interactions of using real life human anatomy.
Key areas covered in this course:
- Functional anatomy of the shoulder complex
- Muscles & motion of the rotator cuff
- Mobilisation techniques - impingement syndrome
- Myofascial soft tissue techniques
- Athletic & Kinesiology taping
